Ruthie Knox has become one of my favorite romance authors. I love her style and voice, her stories are believable thanks to well-written characters, and I always get what I want - the possibility of vicarious living through other people's adventures. The heroine's growth in this one was a sight to behold, and the hero slowly mended himself back together. The romance was sweet and unpredictable at the same time. I loved both the cooking/food, and the beekeeping aspect of the story, since my family keeps bees as well, it's not an often-seen hobby in romancelandia. The view of New York was great, too, and it made me want to experience it for myself. What can I say, other than I really liked this book. It wasn't perfect, but as I remember it now, I remember it very fondly, and to me, that's worth the five-star reward. Well done, Ms. Knox, well done. He is an ass who doesn't know what he wants from him life. He isn't willing to listen to anyone and is a stubborn fool. That being said I can understand why he is that way once we meet the person who makes him that way. May is a bit of a neive character and as someone who's been to NYC quite a number of times made me worried for her safety. But then gain that was the exact point of her character, the willingness to think everyone is good. I think it was a great book for the start of a series and look forward to seeing what else happens with these characters in the future books.Happy Reading... Adri
