Rachel Gibson’s Chinooks Series has captured my heart, officially. The fourth book in this captivating series has kept me up late into the night, once again. The story of Ty and Faith isn’t anything special in the world of romance. (Minus the fact that we get to see a bit inside the head of one of “those bimbos” who chase after men like Hugh Hefner. Which is a place I don’t ever want to be again… LOL! ) Seriously – I could do without the Virgil bits!Which brings me to the next part of this review. We’ve come full circle (in a way) since Georgeanne left Virgil at the alter in book one, Simply Irresistible. But we didn’t get a glimpse at Georgie and John. Nor of Rob and Kate – The Trouble with Valentine’s Day. (Although we got a quick moment with Jane – See Jane Score.) To me, this is a problem because I read series romance because I love to catch up with the old characters, and I really missed that in this book. That said? I loved Ty. I loved Faith. I loved their story, and the smokin hot chemistry between the two. I especially loved all the ice time in this fourth book! Where I waiver is a lot of the side stuff. The aforementioned lack of previous characters. The creepy factor of Virgil Duffy. And Faith’s mom. She was a bit over the top for me, as was her creepy dog.Rachel Gibson is a fantastic story teller, and she writes characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. While I loved the romantic aspect of this book, I have to admit that this was low on the list of “Oh my gosh, I love this book” factor for me. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book (tomorrow!!) and I am leaving this book feeling a bit unsatisfied. It was a good book, but lacking in some serious aspects. At the end of the book, I am still madly in love with the Chinooks Series, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of sports romance! (Although I’d maybe read the books before this first to get you good and hooked!)
