If you've read my review for Chelsea's first book of the Finding Fate Series, you know I am a fan of her writing skills. And while there was a lot that I really did like about this novel, Kayla and Daren just didn't hit as close to home as Pixie and Levi did. I liked the premise, a lot. The two of them literally chained together on a scavenger hunt set up by the one person who loved them the most, and knew they were meant to be together. I really liked Daren, he was kind of a dick but he owned that he was a dick, and his backstory was plausible, it made sense that he was like that. Kayla on the other hand, I could just not buy the whole thing about how she was pretty so no one saw the real her. It seemed a little too Mary Sueish for me, but because the rest of the story and all the characters and even the rest of Kayla's personality were enjoyable to read, I can let it go. Of all the books that are overpopulating the New Adult genre right now, Chelsea Fine is still dominating with realistic characters who are flawed, funny and loveable. She also always seems to have this way of building up the sexual tension to the point where you're almost dying if they don't kiss in the next 150 words. :)I would definitely still recommend this novel to everyone, it's an enjoyable read with a lovely HEA without the hero being 27 and owning a private jet and billions of dollars. Its definitely a fresh twist for the New Adult genre. This one was better than the first one. I really liked it. It’s my second favorite in the series so far. I really liked both of the main characters in this one. The entire scavenger hunt idea did get a little old after a while though. Just because it sounds like something they can do in one sitting, but of course it takes them DAYS. The ending was really sweet though. I wasn’t totally on board with it until the very end, then I fell in love with it. Both characters had so many issues and while it doesn’t seem like they worked through a lot of their current problems, they did grow as people and can now deal more with those outside issues. I would love an epilogue from these characters a few years down the road because they were both just so cute. 4/5 stars
