This was a tough story to finish. I listened to it on audio so some blame can be laid with the narrator's portrayal of Detective Superintendent Grimms and so many of the character voices as gravelly and old, which was annoying. I thought the POVs could have been confined to Grimms and Piet Huffman. The rest were extraneous and unnecessary. The most fascinating part of the story to me was Piet's adventures while in prison. Without giving any spoilers, I will say the story ended satisfactorily for me. I would not seek to read anything else from these authors. Een zeer vlot geschreven boek, dat duidelijk gebaseerd is op gedegen onderzoek naar de werkwijzen van politie en justitie in het infiltreren van het criminele circuit. Het toont heel goed aan wat de meerwaarde van infiltratie is, maar ook welke ethische dilemma's er spelen. Waar ligt de grens en kun je voorkomen dat deze wordt overschreden? Enige minpunt van het boek zijn de cursieve gedachten die het verhaal eerder afremmen dan boeiender maken.
