Yet another sexy read from Cambria Hebert. Torch follows Katie a Librarian and Holt a firefighter. Katie is probably my second fave Take it off lady other than Honor. She is stubborn and independent and reminds me a lot of myself. I couldn't imagine going through what she goes through. I really enjoyed Torch, and now I can't decide which of the books is my fave in the series. Action… Action… Action… Fire… AND Smoke… Smoking hot guy in fire fighting uniform and little beauty tied to a chair. YUP a chair. Someone is trying to kill Katie. TA DA HOLT is here (without a cape) to save the day. Whosh! Splash! Yes Splash. Shrugs, he had to put the fire around her out and she had a pool so he tossed her in. THAT was the beginning. Cambria was able to give you Holt’s character description through Katie’s analysis of the situation she was in and how he was reacting to it. He saved her yes, she was thankful for it, but why was he still there. Not that she minded because he was so good looking. Even outside of the fire fighting uniform. I mean in plain clothes ladies. (rolling my eyes) Katie is shy, reserved and dependant only on herself. She has been by herself since she was 15 so she just likes to blend into the wall and depend on no one. She is a librarian, lives a simple life and doesn’t understand why in the world anyone would want to kill her. BUT then it happens again and HOLT is always there… Thank goodness for that. Now most books New Adult books are JUST steam and sex and little plot with a dash of coming of age. Cambria was able to actually do it right. Character development, intrigue, mystery, main plot, a dash of love and tied it all together in such a neat little bow. Yes it was a HEA. And it was plausible. It was realistic and it was an awesome read. I loved it. I enjoy reading Cambria’s books. She rocks!
