I had the privilege of meeting Lynn Lorenz last month, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. I was intrigued with the idea of a werewolf as a fighting slave, a gladiator of sorts. So, I purchased Tor. I wasn't disappointed. In the beginning, we have Tor. He is a slave, his primary purpose is to fight. He is seriously injured and looses his mate in a rigged match. Next enters Sky, a sex slave, trained to serve in a different way. The two men are forced into a relationship neither one wants. In spite of the odds, the men fall in love. That's all I'm saying, at the risk of giving away too many spoilers. It was a fun read. Werewolves are big, brutish men. Tor is blond and hairy, a totally hot man. Sky is portrayed as the weaker of the two, but he certainly has his own strengths. I liked the interchange between the two men.Tor was the first story I've read by Lynn Lorenz, but it won't be my last. 3.5 and I enjoyed this more than I thought. The opening scene had me re-think my Bingo Book this round but glad I stuck with Tor. (side note I met Lynn Lorenz at GRL and I instantly liked her. You can see her love for what she does right on her face. She loves her stories, loves her characters and just loves to write etc. And she was respectful to her fans and that goes a long way with me :D) As I said the story starts out brutal and heartbreaking with regards to Tor's mate Jin. But the main story was how Tor had to get a new mate and move on with Sky. Majority of the story, more than 75%, was sex but it worked. And what I found more impressive was the story took place solely b/w Tor and Sky. This is risky. It could get boring, fast, with only 2 characters, over and over again. But the author slowly showed their relationship evolve. Yes the plot was predictable but that didn't stop me from wanting to read to the end and witness their HEA.
Do You like book Tor (2012)?
