About book Top 8 (2008)

I have just finished the book TOP 8 by Katie Finn. It features a high school ages girl named Madison Macdonald. She starts off the book by taking a trip to the Galápagos Islands with her family. While she is on vacation, her Friendverse profile gets hacked, and spills horrible spelling errors on her profile, and secrets and awful things that she's said about people behind their backs. When she gets back to school, everyone shuns her, and she has to find out who ruined her profile, and try to make her friends like her again. The theme and moral that the author was trying to portray the most was that you should only say things about people that you would say directly to them. Because Madison has said so many terrible things about others, it all eventually got back at her. This shows that it will always come back to bite you in the end, whenever you do it. This book was definitely a great book, but to be honest it doesn't give you any emotions. It's more like a " one night stand" book. It's good to read if you don't want to become emotionally attached to it. The author usually write stories about teens, but hasn't written very many books whatsoever. This book was not super spectacular. You could definitely tell that it was the authors first book. It didn't seem to have much flow (referring the events and things that had happened in the story), and everything seemed rushed. Other than that, I did enjoy the book and it shows a strong message about how to safely use the internet and certain social media pages. It also makes you think twice about what you say about people behind their backs. I enjoyed getting to know each characters deepest secrets and the constant battle of trying to figure out who hacked Madison's profile was interesting and suspenseful. Overall, I would recommend this book for people who like mysteries and a bit of comedy, although, I would not read it again.

Do You like book Top 8 (2008)?

Yeah, slightly really predictable. But I didn't expect anything more or less.
