An incredible, deeply disturbing book. The matter-of-factness with which the author portrays the near-future is entirely believable... a wake-up call about our society's present worst bits that manages to avoid being preachy or alarmist. Terrorism, technology, "entertainment", police, loss of civil rights, term limits...you name it...this book seems to touch on it, all while spinning an interesting, suspenseful tale. Well done. I liked how realistic this novel was.The plot was good, and the characters felt real, not too perfect or too flawed.I liked the idea of the archive. I didn't notice any (technically) ludicrous claims in how it functions; Though it was unnatural of the author to mention that the archive is written in Java so he could later give details on the exceptions.I was repulsed by the dystopian streaks in there and felt some of them were unexplained ("TV" shows like "Kill, Fuck, Sell America" and the public executions).I liked how the novel left some details out and liked how the author didn't feel the need for a happier ending or a form of closure.
