About book To Tame A Dragon (2000)

Jameson has sworn not to hurt a woman the way his father hurt his mother (by publicly admitting to having a mistress). He needs a strong woman to keep him in line. He realizes his childhood friend Amelia fits the bill -- she will brook no nonsense from him or anyone else and is the master of social engineering to arrange things to her liking. But can he persuade her to marry him? She, after all, is used to doing the arranging. This Regency novella grabbed me from the very first page and kept me entertained throughout the journey. The plot may have been a tad predictable, but I enjoyed the witty banter in which the H and h engage so much that I hardly noticed. I chuckled several times. The banter and good characterization are the story's strong points. I enjoyed the fact that there are no unnecessary kidnappings or other dramatic high jinks. I gave it four instead of five stars because the author denied the reader an open door bedroom scene. Still, this story is well worth a reader's time.
