Started well, a multitude of instantly likeable characters with good rapport and funny dialogue. The dog is fabulous...protective, loyal and irreverent. Disappointed by the astoundingly brusque and unsatisfying denouement, everything tied up in a single chapter but felt like a desperate bid to wrap the book up quickly without any thought to the reader's engagement or pleasure in the process. Left me with a sense of annoyance towards the end but probably still a 2.5 star read but with the potential for much more. Another wonderful Stacy Justice mystery. Since it had been a while between reading the previous book and this one, I had a few moments of reader confusion trying to get myself back into the world of Stacy Justice, but once I was back it was a heck of a ride! I loved that this story focused on what happened to Stacy's father, almost allowing Stacy a little bit more breathing room. Opening herself up more for what she will need to do to get her mother back. I also loved all the dogs in this book, as I am a huge Thor fan! Alas, this book is done and I am left eagerly awaiting the next.
A fun romp of a series. Well written and the quirky characters keep it interesting.
