In the wake of An Affair Before Christmas, I started in on this book with hope. Now that I've finished it, well. I liked the main characters in this book much better when they were secondary characters in An Affair Before Christmas. But this book still gave me some measure of contentment in the end?(Something that just came to me: I think I disfavour many books of Eloisa James because her heroes are pretty much a bunch of shitty people. And not in the interesting anti-hero (or even complete villain) way.) Note to self:Great read. I just wish the heroine's fear that the hero loves his political power, his honor, and all his saintly virtues more than her was addressed directly and not glossed over. She even mentioned that the hero's possessiveness and jealousy was not because he cared for her but because of his rivalry with the other duke. Again, this comment was not addressed. That's why I can't give it 5 stars.
Do You like book This Duchess Of Mine (2009)?
This one wrapped up somewhat abruptly. Not my favourite Eloisa James, but still very readable!
