The third in the trilogy, this novel ended the way any such trilogy could end. So, reflecting on the series, this series is - like all good literature - the story of a man on a quest. He's searching for humanity, for life. What is it that makes life worth living? He knew at one point but, then, forgot. And that is the real tragedy of Danny McCoyne. And who is Danny but a stand in for all of us as we continue to seek out happiness in different forms and standards? So, yes, in the end this is a philosophical "zombie" novel that reveals more about humanity. Some slow parts in thhe middle. The end to a three part series!! Don't get me wrong the story is a brilliant and grabbing concept, but the final book took a long while and so much time to get drawn into it! It wasn't until the final 150+ pages where it got interesting to me, as it lacked the action packed violence of the second book!! Still in my opinion the second book was by far the best of the three, but all in all the series is definitely worth a five star rating!!
