About book The World Is Full Of Married Men (1997)
I've seen her books everywhere and I saw it again yesterday in Sainsbury's and I thought why not, let's try one of her books. It's quite addictive although in the beginning I could not get used to the writing style. Most of the characters are quite terrible who don't even think about other people's feelings for a second. I liked Linda out of all the characters as she was the most decent (she did something questionable herself but I really cannot blame her for that, although some might think I am being hypocritical if I am defending her and no one else). This is exactly why we are all addicted to magazines and celebrity lives. They do shocking things (for us mere mortals) like it is the most natural thing ever.
The Good: Jackie Collins never fails to bring sexy, scandalous, and utterly addictive into every novel she writes. The World is Full of Married Men brings everything you would expect. Witty, engaging, ritzy and devious, this is the inside look into the lives of the Hollywood elite that we can't help wanting to know.The Bad: The World Full of Married Men is one of Jackie Collins' earliest books and it does show. The writing isn't nearly as clear and well crafted as her subsequent books. The characters aren't fully fleshed out and the the sexy is toned down a lot from what we've come to know.
