From the woman who created the iconic wrap dress comes this autobiography which delights and enchants. Sure, I couldn't relate when she talked about jet setting off to the Swiss Alps with her real-life Prince of a husband, hanging with Jackie O. or moving on a whim to Bali to live in a hut with a new lover, but I sojourned with her throughout the story and cheered her on every step of the way. She truly lived "a man's life in a woman's body" as she aptly states in this book. What a fun ride she has had, what a great role model for other women, what a unique individual. We could all do to live a little more fearlessly a'la Diane. A memoir divided into three buckets: love, beauty, and fashion with personal information spread throughout. I love wrap dresses so it was interesting to hear about the highs and lows of DFV's career. I didn't like that the story wasn't chronological so some stories (i.e. when she met her life long love and eventual husband Berry) kept coming up randomly. I found the fashion section the most interesting.
