About book The Wives Of Los Alamos (2013)

While the content of this book was interesting, the Manhattan project and The secrecy surrounding it, the writing style of this book prevented me from relating to any character or anything for that matter. I felt perpetually lost in it and had a hard time visualizing myself being a part of this world because the characters responses to what was going on around them were so very varied. As a military wife, I did understand what she was trying to convey; in any group of people you will have many different viewpoints on the same issue. Some can make the best of a horrible situation and some never can. This book did force me to head to the Internet to learn more about Los Alamos. I really liked the artwork on the cover so I bought the book. I also bought it because I lived at White Clouds near Los Alamos for a time in the 1990s. The book has a loosely linked paragraphs which at times reminded me of prose poems. The wives experiences were interesting, and I gained insight into the period between 1943-1945. If you are interested in the people and events associated with the first atomic bomb, you may find this story interesting. I did.

Do You like book The Wives Of Los Alamos (2013)?

I found this book to be very disappointing. The Girls of Atomic City was soooo much better.
