I found this novella on Amazon's free list after The Paranormal BookShelf via Facebook had posted it under deals of the day. I thought I would check it out because I was out of books at the time. This review is my opinion only. No one gave me the book to review, I just felt like reviewing it because heck I liked the book and just went and got the rest of the series off of Amazon. So here it goes....Category/Topic: Adult (18+) Paranormal RomanceReview of The Witching Pen by Dianna Hardy: No spoilers After reading the first installment of the Witching Pen series, the reader cannot do anything but search or hunt for the next addition. This small but wonderfully filled novella contains action, mystery, romance, steam and all around page turning questions. The author does a fabulous job in answering questions just at the right moment while also leaving the reader wanting to know more. This work is filled with great quotes and characters that make any reader feel as though they could know them personally. Add all of these things with the paranormal world of witches, demons and a few other surprising characters and you get this neat little find of a book. It is set in the UK which in some books is an issue to outsiders, but instead the detail allows any reader to picture the scene just right. The only complaint found in this novella is the length and of course the feeling one gets when they finish the story and have to then search for the next in the series. All in all one of the best short series first books I've read in a while. Lucky for readers the rest of the series is on Amazon in a box set! This is the full length story of Elena and Karl and it starts when Karl is 27. For a long time, Elena and Karl have kept their relationship purely platonic due to circumstances "beyond their control" but things are about to change.This story is full of action, romance, drama and suspense. You find out little snippets as you read along and the characters are built up. There is no insta-love in this book, just a deep and true friendship that could always have been something more if things had been different.Absolutely brilliant and an ending which definitely makes you reach for the next book in the series!
