Again, I read this a book on cd. I have grown accustomed to the reader and relate her voice to these characters. Alas, this is the second book I have read lately that does in a mainstay character. What a Peyton Place Aspen Meadows must be. Our deceased, Holly, has apparently had some sort of relationship with several men. Did one of them kill her and why? Yet, even more puzzling, why was her death from foods that Goldy served? Despite its entertaining run and puzzle, it was a bit more shallow than usual. Although Goldy went 'great guns' in an attempt to find the killer, she was more than a trifle shallow in her grief. Still fun to read. I guess that I am just tired of reading about Goldy Schutz and her family and friends that I really didn't enjoy this book as much as I did her earlier ones. In this one, a friend from Goldy's past is killed and Goldy and her detective husband Tom, and Goldy's best friend Marla immerse themselves in finding the killer and the motive. Another murder happens along the way as well as attempts to attack Goldy. But I was so disinterested in everything, that I found it hard to follow their logic in tracking clues and solving the case.

I normally enjoy these books. this one dragged on a bit too much for me.
