About book The White House (2014)

The White House by JaQuavis Coleman ♥♥♥ ♡ (3.5) (SEMI-SPOILER REVIEW)I could recall the very first book I purchased and read by Ashley and JaQuavis, ‘The Cartel’, when it first came out. Since then, I supported their craft. Writing either as a dynamic couple, or independently, I have always respected their ambition in the literary world. When reading an author’s work they have penned, regardless of the genre, I try to see if there is a story behind the words. I try to see if there is an underlined message. Does these statements make any sense to you? If not, let me put it in a much simpler way; there is always a story behind the story. The message is beyond the words and only those who have experience something similar or know of someone who may have will only relate. Some stories have a second memo and some don’t. This story did. With that been mention, I think I got the second coating of the story the author is trying to hint, that is - - In life some of us are dealt a better hand of cards than others. Don't trip. Irrespective of the cards dealt to you, it’s how you play the game of life that overall determines if you win or lose. Don’t fold. Keep praying and playing the game even if it seems like you’re losing in the beginning. Don’t renege. You may just be surprise of the outcome. In this short-lived, but rapid novella, the message is straightforward - - Every action has a response. Usually the comeback is equal to the deed, good or bad, no other option. Karma in this story is definitely ruthless. No fairy tale ending, just like reality sometimes. Every so often good people say and do things, and to a person on the outside looking in, would think their foolish, dumb, just plan ole stupid. The storyline, foreseeable, but still a great story. The character expansion, lack depth, just a tad. On the other hand, still a tale I would recommend for those who direct genre is Street/Urban/Heist.Looking forward to JaQuavis Coleman, next full novel, Black Wall Street.Keep the ‘Infamous’ books coming OWL. An unsettling, gritty tale of life in the streets of Detroit, where people have dreams and dreams get smothered and people get killed. This work is a very quick read novella that speaks to the violent underworld of the drug trade and the people get steamrolled by its unmerciful avalanche of murder and mayhem. Not for young readers or those who would be easily offended by the language or behavior. My thanks to the author and Goodreads for a complimentary copy.
