About book The Weepers - Und Sie Werden Dich Finden (2013)

I really enjoyed this story, it was interesting and fun to read. I liked the concept of the world. But I didn't like that the story line was so basic. Sherry trying to find her father after the Weepers took him. I felt like it was a very basic storyline in such a world that has so much potential. The stakes weren't high enough and I wanted more action, less naivety and stupidity, a deeper story and more reveals. There were a lot of info dumps which made me sad, instead of gradually finding out all of this information we learnt it in info dumps all at once. That made this story a little boring, it wasn't as intense as I wanted it to be.Still I enjoyed it a lot. I just felt like it could have been a lot better. Susanne Winnacker has a good story although it is similar to "The Walking Dead". I really like the characters, but she doesn't spend much time to really develop other than Sherrys family. Sherry though is a cute girl, not one of that helpless screaming Barbies who wait to be rescued. That's the main problem of the book: It's lacking detail. The author has a fascinating postapocalyptic world at her fingertips but she doesn't take the time to describe it to us. Most of the book is just action and in between a little love story. Something I liked was the idea of making Sherry count things. Just a little special in between. The timeline is all wrong: In only two days they save Sherrys father, then two days later it already seems as if Sherry was glued to Joshua although there hasn't been any time to develop feelings of any kind. Only days later Sherry speaks of safe-haven as "their home which she doesn't want to leave" - which seems a little pathetic after such a short time.Don't get me wrong: I liked the book. But I wished she would write it all over again filling in all the gaps, describe how those people survive, how they have to work each and every one of them to make it together, how they search for usable things, how they secure their home. There's another gap: Although they fear the Weepers like nothing else they don't even bother to close the shutters at night. Wouldn't you try to make it into a fortress at night while you were sleeping? Close everything up?

Do You like book The Weepers - Und Sie Werden Dich Finden (2013)?

Simple writing, recycle plot, uninteresting characters (except Tyler) but yet I still read it.
