Somehow I started on book 2 (I blame a rash amazon free deal in which I didn't read the description well) and then went back and started from the beginning. This was too brief! The main characters were underdeveloped and barely offered a supporting role in the rest of the series. There was no need to this story as far as the rest of the series was concerned - it neither added depth nor explanation. It wasn't terrible but if this was going to happen these characters deserved further development - their back stories needed more details - the brevity of the writing left this reader unsatisfied. This was a silly short story. I read it on my lunch hour and was disappointed in the lack of any actual reality. She loved him since he and she were kids and suddenly that are in a relationship after one sexual encounter? He had issues that he was ready to face head on after their encounter because it was so profound? It was too sugary for me, I wanted more background on his life as a cop. I know it was a short, but I can't even remember their names,
This was a nice short story but I find that it finishes a little rapidly.

Pretty short but still very enjoyable.
