Things are really heating up as Rick and the rest of the survivors really start to get to know Negan. He has started to take his "half" of the supplies of those living in the Safe Zone. It is supposedly the cost of protection, but it is really a racket to keep Negan and his people from coming in and crushing the other mini-communities. Besides the Hilltop, where Jesus is from, Rick is also brought into contact with the Kingdom ruled by Ezekial, a large African American man with a flair for the dramatic and a pet tiger. Thanks to an introduction by Jesus, Rick is able to start forming an alliance with Ezekial and his people in the hopes of throwing off the yoke of Negan.Carl, who is tired of watching his father kowtow to Negan, sneaks into the stash of supplies that have been collected by Negan's people, and he kills some of them. Surprisingly, this actually piques Negan's interest, and the tyrant almost seems to take the boy under his wing. This is definitely a set up for the battle that is coming. Readers really get a lot of insight into the different mini-communities that have been able to come together in the area along with the different leadership styles of the men who oversee them. It will be interesting to see how it things play out! I have read each and every one of these comics and I absolutely LOVE each one. I am slightly obsessed with Zombies I think this set of comics accurately tells a story of how the world will fall and how mankind will react to the collapse of world order. Rick Grimes the protagonist of the series holds on to what is left of humanity in his son while he himself looses his own. the trials they face as a family and a group is disturbing but true to life in this epic tale of survival of the fittest.
