Three and a half stars. I very much enjoyed this. It was fast paced, exciting, and solidly written. I really knew nothing about Anne Neville prior to reading this book other than the fact that she was the daughter of Warwick the Kingmaker and wife of Rochard III. I learned much about her life and times, and the author really made the danger and treachery of the Wars of the Roses come alive. Very fun and interesting to read! Historical fiction got me interested ever since I began reading Jean Plaidy and of course Phillipa Gregory. But nothing had prepared me for the interesting story of the Virgin Widow who had been mentioned very briefly in most historical fiction novels as though the lady, despite being the daughter of the Earl of Warwick and later wife of King Richard, had no voice of her own. How could it be that history had forgotten to give a sketch of the strength and character of this woman? This book unravels it all and brings a romantic side to King Richard that I'd not have considered possible but yes, he truly loved this woman for her integrity and spunk than for her inheritance. Now how can you resist a romance like that?Read it to believe it.
This was a predictable read.....but mindless entertainment was what I was looking for.

I liked this book a lot, but there were a few sections that I wished went faster.

So far so good. In fact, I think I've found a new author to follow.
