This book was fantastic! It features great use of fun, new dictionary words that children most likely won't know. It's about a boy who likes to collect all of these words and one day stumbles upon a very inappropriate word. He starts saying it, and then all of his classmates start saying it, much to the shock of his teacher and other adults in his life! After his teacher hears that Michael was the source of this very inappropriate word, she sends him to the library to find new words for her to use in her spelling lessons. He ends up finding a ton of new words and forgetting about the very inappropriate word! A very clever, fun story that's great for visual learners because all new words are incorporated into illustrations, too! What I liked the most about this book was the way the illustrator illustrated each word so that by looking at the picture and reading the word a child would be able to make some sort of guess as to the word's meaning. It was wonderfully illustrated.The book didn't go down the path of telling children not to say certain words, but instead went a new direction of pointing out that there are so many more interesting words to use, there is no need for ones that are mean, bad or inappropriate.
