Finally! A book where the heroine doesn't just accept an "I"m sorry" and a puppy face from the guy that treated her horribly. She made him WORK for forgiveness for his inexcusable behavior, made him understand what she had gone through but wasn't a complete bitch. And after he realizes how badly he screwed up he doesn't completely turn around and become a nice guy either-it took time. It's refreshing. Definitely recommend it. It was a good story, but I really don't see the appeal when authors enjoy creating heroines that have no self respect. The man can treat her like shit 24/7, say hateful things, abuse her emotionally... but her "body" still wants him like crazy. Am I the only one who thinks this is crazy? I mean... send that man to hell and go after someone who will respect you and treat you right. Or better yet... go make a life for yourself and be independent and powerful and you wont have to go after no man.. they will be dying to get to know you... tsk tsk tsk.
