About book The Unexpected Husband: Jury Of His Peers\Any Sunday (2012)
Review for Any Sunday:I give this book 4.5 stars. :) I love how Debbie Macomber creates strong leading female characters. This story wasn't as exciting as Jury of his Peers (read them both in The Unexpected Husband), but it was more realistic for me. I love how strong and independent Majorie was. I fell in love with Sam, too. The only thing that put me off here is after the surgery, Sam suddenly visits Marjorie in her apartment. I found that creepy. It bored me midway, but I love how issues such as a woman not wanting to have children, is laid out here, because a lot of couples have that issue in their plates. Review for Jury of his Peers:I immediately fell in love with this book the moment I started reading it! I loved Debbie Macomber's language; it was easily relate-able. I fell in love with Caroline, though halfway through, I was irritated by her childishness and the fact that she was acting like a colossal bitch. I loved Ted, as well. I wish there was more suspense added to the case. It ended just like that, as if the author was in a rush to finish writing the story. Though slightly flawed, I loved the plot. I just love these kinds of love stories. Overall, it was a great, fun read and I couldn't put it down!I hate to compare but The Unexpected Husband is way better than First Impressions/Blithe Images (double) book by Nora Roberts. Loved the male leads in both stories here, but found it really hard to even like the whiny, emotional train wrecks of the two female principals, C'mon, give women a little credit and do not write them as needy and always wanting reassurance from everyone in their lives to be validated. Stories overall were entertaining, so I am not panning the book entirely, just knowing it was older stories from the author I really like (usually, lol) was enough to keep me reading. The later work is much improved from these 25 + yr old stories, so glad to say I will keep reading.
