About book The Trinity Game (2012)

Great book.Gripping and I can certainly see where the Da Vinci Code comparisons have come from. Mysterious organisations, a corrupt church and a priest battling with his faith. All of these and cleaver writing lead to a certain page turner that lead me to have a few nights light on sleep. I just couldn't put it down at points. This did however have the unfortunate effect of a code of headaches cause by the iPad hitting me in the head when I fell asleep through exhaustion at 3 am, though I'm sure this is purely an unfortunate side effect of the enthraling story. Will he make the right decision about his faith?? Will people live or die?? Who are the curious secretive organisation hanging round in the background?? Will the girl be "the girl" or just a distraction??? Only reading to the end will give the answers but it's certainly worth it! A good read, plenty of excitement, and a few interesting characters--although most just filled out standard stereotypes. The ending didn't have the punch that I was hoping for.The author set up an interesting situation that had potential to look at the types of people God could speak through, what this might reveal about God, and the way other believers respond to an "inappropriate" person through whom God chooses to speak. But instead of developing this potential, the author kept the narrative focused on the chase, criminal elements, ruthless Catholic leaders, conspiracy theories, and a resurgent love interest. In other words, the author neglected the promise of his plot to keep the novel clearly in the thriller genre; I, for one, am disappointed.
