About book The Time Traveler's Guide To Elizabethan England (2013)
All of this is filtered through the fact that I read this for school. Most people in the class didn't actually read it, though several who did were more enthusiastic than students usually are about assigned readings. I think I like the author's medieval-England analogue better, though I'm less than fervent about pretty much all of his books; I'm not sure why he has so many fans, when his books mostly strike me in the category of "pleasant diversion" than "must-read." I'm not sure I'm being fair, perhaps I should have given 4 stars? I'm judging it having read it on Kindle. There were a lot of maps and pictures etc. which didn't work in that format, so if you're interested, try a proper book! I loved its medieval predecessor, but the approach didn't seem as good a second time. Nevertheless, having probably overstated the drawbacks, a brilliantly sensitive deep dive into the Elizabethan era, with lots of new and surprising info.

A wonderful glimpse into daily life in Elizabeth's England, for all walks of life.

not quite as enthralling as the medieval guide, but charming nonetheless.
