I'm not even sure how to describe this one other than completely fantastic and wonderful. Everything about it is just as the title suggests, awkward, and yet it's one of the most entertaining and enjoyable books I've read in a while, and there's something so deep and beautiful in this silly little story. There's also something a little heartbreaking in the truth of it. The message is great and the story is fun, if not a little odd!I don't want to give anything away, and trying to recap any of it would be ridiculous and not do the story justice, but I loved it. The writing style is fantastic. The story is very unique. I couldn't put it down. It was a quick read and completely worth it. I absolutely loved this book. I didn't think I would because to be honest, it is...strange. But it is delightful. I love that the author took her own personal experiences and made into this warped fairy tale. Was it the best book ever written? No, but it was simply charming. It sends a clear image for the modern girl who still questions herself, battling with perfection. And how sometimes, your biggest enemy is yourself. The story may be silly by some standards, but I just loved it. It wasn't short...sweet...and sent a good clear message. It reads young, but that doesn't bother me. I know many people that I know who would consider reading this would not like it as much as I did...and that's okay. Because I was happy to come across it. :)
