"Falling in love is like hearing your favorite song for the first time." I really can't say enough good things about this gem. I'm giving it 5 stars! because for one, it is so well written, and Junie's story feels is so raw and real.Also, in a world where writers (media, tv, movies... and yes even novels) give love and sex the rag doll treatment. And most of the time they give the wrong idea about this personal, sacred act between two people. I feel the writer Ashley Poston calls them out on it (ie. "My virginity meant nothing. Not love, not devotion. There was no bed of roses, no french kiss, no whispers of 'Baby, you're all I need.' There was nothing.") Fair warning though, this book contains explicit language. I don't know what I expected when I picked this book, but i can say I didn't expect this. Not in a bad way, although from all the reviews I thought it would be much much better. But it was mostly different from what I imagined. I liked Roman up until all hell broke loose in that club with that paparazzo. Sure, I can imagine how he wouldn't trust anyone, but still....he should have given Junie more credit and a chance to prove him she was trustworthy. I liked Junie too. And Boaz. And even maggie.That scene when Junie and Maggie got arrested almost totally naked was so funny!The Paparazzo, John, was seriously creepy. I didn't like much Cas, especially in the beginning. That scene of him and Junie together was.....I dodn't know...so cold. looked like he took what he wanted without caring for Junie's feelings or her pleasure too. It was kind of sad, being in Junie's head in that moment. I kind of started to think that maybe, just maybe, he cared about her a little, towards the end. Obviously, it wasn't his fault if he didn't like her. Or other girls. He couldn't help it. But still...it was her first time for God's sake! And he acted like a jerk! here, I said it! Then, okay, maybe still don't like him much. And haven't forgiven him. All in all, a good read. And a very cute ending. The revelation about the "ice cream drama" and that other thing Roman says about Junie's father, was amusing and shocking. Didn't expect that! So cute! It was like Fate pulling them together, because they belong with each other. Like soulmates or something. Sweet!
