The third and hopefully not last installment of the Shadowmagic series, The Sons Of Macha, really shows off hte talent of the author. Lenahan puts his characters in a seemingly impossible situation and it reads like he knew how it was going to turn out before even setting pen to paper. By that I mean that the resolution doesn't feel forced. There are too many books that are so much fun to read that let you down at the end and don't do the rest of the story justice. Lenahan has avoided this in all three of these books and it's pretty impressive as far as I am concerned.I'm not going to bother rambling about this one. Suffice it to say that this series should be on your radar. It's fun, it's rip-roaring, it'll make you cry, it'll make you chuckle, and it will be fun to read. I am so sentimental about this book. It was a fantastic end to the trilogy. It is my first time reading a book of his paper side, the other two novels I listened to the free audio version. John, you know I adore your stories, but WHY did you only use a single apostrophe for dialogue and why didn't you punctuate abbreviated titles???? That bothered me throughout the entirety of the book. Other than the formatting problems, I did enjoy the story. I would recommend it to other fans of his first novel and/or somewhat cheesy fantasy. I very much enjoyed this book.
