I loved this book. I read a lot of various styles from non-fiction to thrillers to fantasy. I do not have much training when it comes to the critiquing of authors or writing but I know when I read something that I like, that keeps me interested, and gets me invested in the characters. This book satisfied me on all counts. I liked it as much as Steelheart, Eye of the World (favorite wheel of time volume), or anything else I have read in the past. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys an easy to read, engaging story. Picked up this book because it was cheap and I was looking for a new author to try out and I'm certainly pleased I did. thoroughly enjoyed the story good plot, good characters and wanting to know what happens next is already bugging me there were a few faults for me especially with the dialogue. I found it bugged me that all the characters were so polite regardless of their mood our situation and spoke to much when they were in the middle of a crisis or should be fleeing it takes the edge off to much of the stories pivotal moments. despite this its hard to put down and I'm looking forward to book 2 maybe that will reach 5 stars
