Honestly, I LOVED The Prince. Fantastic. Amazing. Flawless. Made me love Prince Maxon even more. I never wanted it to end. But it did. And I got to The Guard. and I actually really liked Apsen throughout the series. I don't think I was ever exactly "Team Aspen" but I liked him. After reading The Guard, I found him to be slightly annoying and even a bit obsessive and almost oblivious to America's wants. I also found myself board while reading the section. I still like Apsen, I'm just glad the books weren't from his pov. All in all, I'm giving this a 3.5/5 stars. I LOVED The Prince and made my way through The Guard and cannot wait to get my hands on the second installment of these short Selection Stories. I enjoyed the author's decision to include these stories as companion pieces rather than try to integrate them into America's story. Having the main story told entirely from America's point of view made me feel more connected to her as a character. Reading about Prince Maxon and Aspen's perspectives was a fun bonus that wasn't entirely necessary but still enjoyable. I only wish the stories had been a little longer!
