Well ??? Still not sure what I think of this book. May have to leave my actual review until after I've had more time to mull it over.****Shouldn't have started another book when I am 1) working my way through a gigantic historical piece, AND 2) need to get working on Sa Femme for French Book Club, but ... well, after The Glass Castle I needed to indulge in something just for fun.****My sister, Noelle, sent me a note about this book telling me to put it on my MUST READ LIST (her caps), so I guess I'll pull this to the top of my To-Read list. Though i liked how it was written i was not satisfied with the final chapter. The way Cinderella was portrayed i found very interesting and highly accurate if you really think about how much abuse and suffering and lose she had gone through in her life. HOWEVER the going back and forth between her being a fairy or just it being a delusion she uses to help her deal with a horrible event that happened when she was a child i didn't like i have to admit. The ending was very abrupt for the lead up to her going to fairy land now i will never know if she flew away to the otherworld or if she simply committed suicide in a psychotic episode.I did however love the characters. The life in Veronica made me giggle and feel joy and Georges book worm life spent either on the road trying to find a new rare edition or in his attic of an apartment reading i found very endearing. It was just the last chapter that i felt sooooo empty about.
