There were parts of this book that I really liked, and parts that I could not stand. I loved the relationship between Blake and Vivi; they were suck great best friends. I loved that they both needed each other and that Vivi respected her and their friendship enough to let Blake come to the realization that she was being a jerk on her own. I like where Blake and Sonny's relationship is going and the peace that she made with her mother. Now, on to what I did not like. I could not stand Dallas and I did not like that Meredith was such a champion for her. I understand that she liked to support the underdog, and I appreciated it with Lewis, but to support someone who has constantly been nothing but horrible to your granddaughter was unacceptable. Because of that I am not sure if I will read another book in this series. I enjoyed the writers wit in telling her story. My Mother and Aunt were the queens of "Bless their hearts". It was always a joke in our family that Mother used that phrase when she said something negative about someone. It was interesting to read about places and things I recognized in Tuscaloosa. Both my children graduated from The University of Alabama and yes I still love Coach Bryant and Joe Namath. The ending left me shaking my head. it didn't make sense why Lewis faked his death and the police wasted time and resources looking for him yet no one was upset when it turned out to be a hoax. Why the secrecy over a radio station? The ending pretty much ruined the book for me.
A fun, light read. Set in Tuscaloosa so I enjoyed the references to landmarks and traditions.
