About book The Really, Really, Really Big Dinosaur (2012)

Level (P). The story about sharing and friendship, but it has a comical side with a valuable lesson at the end. Children love this book especially when they realize that there are hidden pictures on each page. This aspect makes children want to reread the text therefore enforcing the concept of sharing and that "greed is not good." This is a great book to share in a classroom. Not only is it fun for reading but it is also good for a math project (dividing equal jelly beans). The characters are colorful and even the greedy dinosaur is lovable as well. This was a fun read. It worked really well for 1st and 2nd grade. The text is well done and allows for using different voices if you're so inclined. The illustrations are really cute and it was great watching my students smiling and then clapping at the end of the book.Big dinosaur wants little dinosaur's jelly beans. Little dinosaur can't give them away, because they belong to his friend. Big dinosaur really wants those jelly beans... a lot. The little dinosaur says his friend is really, really, really big. "Everyone knows I'm the biggest and strongest dinosaur around here!" Big dinosaur starts boasting about all the ways he is better than little dinosaur's friend. Ooops. Big dinosaur gets his just desserts in a very funny way.
