Great, unbiased and in-depth portrayal of the Republican nominee for president in 2012. It shows Romney's motivation to run for office and his background as a child in Michigan, as a young man in college, and as a business executive. It delves into his career as governor of Massachusetts and his original failed attempt to run for President in 2008. Now somewhat out of date since Romney lost, it still provides a great glimpse into the life of Mitt Romney. I'm glad I waited till after the election to buy this book. I got it for a good price.Written by two journalists from the Boston Globe. Not a hagiography but I think he comes off well.I loved the chapter about his family. He's the kind of husband and father I aspire to be. He's not a great politician (although I don't think he's a bad one either) but he is a good (though not perfect) man. And since I read books to learn how to be good, this was worth reading. Even now that the election is over.
Nothing particularly trenchant here for anyone who pays attention to national politics.
