About book The Price Of Falling (2000)

Omg omg omg! I LOVED this book! I laughed, cried, and fumed. I fell in love with Mike and grew to adore Jason. Just ah.. happy sighs. I was so mad and sad and frustrated for the longest time but then this AMAZING author flipped me from furious to heart broken back to ecstatic and then she ended with making me go all fangirl gaga and gush with cartoon hearts popping pout my eyes at the end. It was just supremely amazing and it is a must read!! Warning: Might be spoilerish!!!This was a very engaging, angsty read. As a matter of fact, it was ANGST galore. It made me feel entertained, frustrated and elated multiple times. Mike was frustrating at times because he was basically Jason's carpet for the first part of the book. The downward spiral that Mike and Jason were traveling got to a point where I put the Kindle down and started wondering HOW this story could possibly have a happy ending. They seemed more destined towards self-destruction.I disliked Jason for a good portion of the book. Yes, I felt bad for him but he was basically a jerk to Mike and everyone around him for the majority of the book. I did feel bad for him a the end was happy to see how nicely the author got these two boys to have a happy ending together. The pacing and character development were nicely done. There were only two things that I thought were very farfetched to the point of distraction from the story: first off where can you commit someone to a mental institution WITHOUT the patient's consent or a power of attorney representing it? And how can Mike afford (even with a nice job) such hospital bill??the second was the way that Mike spent money and his wonderful job. Mike didn't graduate high school (I assume he got the equivalent of a GED) with average to low grades, works as an office clerk for a year and then is offered a fabulous job in NYC heading a department??? Not only that, but he spent like he was a c-level executive not a middle manager. I mean, he had a 2-bedroom apartment in a nice part of Manhattan, sends everyone lavish presents, buys stuff for everyone, etc. I think it would have been more believable if his financial situation was aided by some sort of trust fund or something else.Regardless of these two hiccups, I quite enjoyed the story and would recommend to anyone that enjoys angsty M/M romance novels with well-developed relationships.

Do You like book The Price Of Falling (2000)?

DNF. I liked the idea of this, but never really warmed to the writing or the characters.
