About book The Passionate Programmer (2009)

essay essay Chad Fowler sets out to describe a few heuristics he's discovered to lead a full, passionate and productive career in software development. The book's advice is good, but it's what most passionate developers would consider common sense, things that they know innately. In that regard, the book helped verbalize and abstract those ideas and spawn related and derivative thoughts. I could read Fowler's approach to my similar ideas and have them realigned. The book reiterates a lot of advice many developers will and should hear throughout their career. It's a good repeater for these nuggets, and will help them sink in a bit deeper. The book is an easy read and preaches many good ideas, but it isn't ground breaking. I'm glad I invested the time to read it, though.

Do You like book The Passionate Programmer (2009)?

Book is nor good, nor bad either. Very broad book, nothing deep just some general ideas.
