I haven't read a book centered around the French Revolution in a while, so it was a joy to find one. I will be honest, the writing style didn't really grab me at first, yet I couldn't put the book down! I sped through it; I finished it in less than 24 hours (I timed myself)Then I found out that there was a second book! But of course, my library doesn't have it. I must find the second book! Definitely recommend it for a quick read. Didn't like the swearing. Thankfully there wasn't too much but other than that I liked the book. The thing I liked/didn't like: the slower plot. I didn't like it because it made the book a bit hard to get into and hard to read. But I liked it because most authors don't write liek that anymore. Everything happens no, Now, NOW!! and it made it more of a challenge to read.. I also liked all the french phrases the author threw in. I wish there had been a bit more!
It was pretty good, but not amazing. Kind of one of those books that you enjoy, but never reread.
