This is such a refreshingly wonderful book. This is not just a story about Ben and Travis trying to figure out love together. No, it's so much more. This is Ben, being a big brother, learning responsibility in ways he's never dreamed, and opening his eyes to the beauty in front of him. It's younger brothers learning to trust their older brother, opening up and enjoying life. Each brother, Travis too, has a challenge, and as they all learn to lean on the right people for guidance, they become closer than ever. I enjoyed this so much and look forward to more from this author. I love it! The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of this: I know there are lots of people that's okay with homosexuality, but there's also a lot who are not okay. In this story, I feel like the author painted the townspeople as "too openminded", it's almost felt unreal. Plus the lack of "abuse" from those against homosexuality. Not that I wanted that, but I felt that the scenery/background is too idealistic to be real, at least for me. But, other than that, this is a great story. Ben Walsh is my kind of guy. A bit clueless, but really loves his family. And for them, he's willing to sacrifice anything, including his boyfriend. In this book, we see how Ben slowly reconnected with his brothers, understanding them, and learning how to become their parent at the same time. There'a a lot of fights and mistakes, many happy and joyous moments, but at the core is the brothers' love for each other. I love seeing Ben matured emotionally, and finally get his own happy ending.
