The Mother Road was a heartwarming tale told on the dirty skirts of Christian divorce. Everything was right about the story--realistic characters who grow and heal, settings that walk out of reality, and spot-on pacing. The sisters travel a figurative as well as a literal Mother Road when they face their mother's Alzheimer's, the heroine's infertility, her sister's unplanned pregnancy, and the other woman's fertility. 5 Stars Jennifer ALlee just gets better and better. If you haven't read The Pastor's Wife and The Mother Road, you have a treasure awaiting you. I love the imperfect people—including Christians like me—in Jen's books who struggle with difficult situations in their lives. But her books always leaves me with hope and with food for thought on how I might respond to the challenges I face.Lots of humor. A great, thought-provoking read.
