I've have loved everything I've read by Shira Anthony up to date. I liked the Melody Thief, it could have been love. The characters were well written. Cary/Conner was really interesting. Antonio was fantastic and little Massi, adorable. Now having been active in the Gay community for a very long time especially during the 1980's and the height of the AIDS crisis I always appreciate the fact that many authors use safe sex in the novels. (Yes I know it's a book, but...) With the numbers of Aids patients rising every year I think it is important to include safe sex just as a matter of conscious. Now that being said the characters did practice safe sex up to a point then "oohh whammy, we've been together X amount of time and tested negative! Lets Bareback." I have a real problem with that mind set. Not going to give a lecture but if you "live it" you know it and won't do it!I will not however let this stop me from buying or reading Shira Anthony books. I think I would really like her in person she seems the kind of person I could sit with and chat for a long evening.This book would have gotten 5 stars but for the one incidence in the book just rubbing me wrong.Buy and enjoy!! 4.5 stars...this the second book in this series was almost "perfect"!!! (no shootem' up-bang bang...and where were my guys from book one) I enjoyed this story so much more than I did the first...the MCs were wonderful and with a kid like Massi...you just can't go wrong!!! Cary found what he didn't even know he was looking for and Antonio knew Cary was worth loving and he wasn't giving Cary up with out a fight...even though the one he had to convince was Cary!!! This story just seemed to flow...I hated to even get up to get a snack and drink!!! Read it clear through in one setting...I love when that happens...and this story was worth every minute of the time it took to read it!!! Great Job Ms. Shira Anthony!!! I am sooooooo looking forward to the next book!!!
