About book The Mailbox (2010)

This is the story of a woman who goes back to her childhood vacation spot where she first fell in love. Now divorced with children, she reflects on her mistakes and remembers the man she should have married, who just happens to be in town and is recovering from his own break-up. The Mailbox was pleasant enough, although I found the religious sentiments to be a bit too overt. It did stick with me though; now everytime I hear Boys of Summer I think of this book. I grabbed this book to take with me to the beach for a "Saturday read"....what a great pick! The combination of sand, salt air and sun made the story of Lindsay and Campbell and "Sunset Beach" come alive even more and kept me engrossed for hours...until I finished this enchanting read in one sitting despite the mini-sandstorm blowing around my chair! Marybeth Whalen has crafted a beautiful love story - one of true love and the longing of acceptance, understanding, and forgiveness not just from someone special to us but from and for ourselves and most importantly, from our Heavenly Father. I eagerly look forward to reading Marybeth's next novel!

Do You like book The Mailbox (2010)?

A bit sappy for me. Wish the female character had been a little less wishy-washy (just my opinion).
