Short predictable read with no risk. The dialogue is stale - no variation between people and all of the normal "How are you today?" - with the normal response "Fine".Had one laugh in the book.Other needed fix beyond dialogue - nearly all the sentences are the same length. Made the reading monotonous. Change-up needed. I did not find any format or line editing errors.So if you want a cookie-cut no-risk read, here you go. I did finish the book.NOTE: picked up while book was free. There are no short comings in any of Liv's work, simply wonderful. This is my 4th read by this talented short story author, and it is just as wonderful as the other 3! What I think is so great about her stories, is that even though it is short, it packs a powerful read. I kind of use short stories as a "reading palate cleasning". After I have read an intense story, I just need a lite read to quickly help me reach the punch line or HEA if you will, so I love a short read. Now don't get me wrong, not all shorts are created equal. To me a great short is one that reads like a longer story, in that it sets up the plot, draws you in and gets you invested into the characters and they are real and not one dimensional. Liv is wonderful at making these stories real and so engaging. Please Liv, keep them coming; you have a true fan.
