The Loser List Review by Navpreet Singh The Loser List is a book written by H.N Kowitt. I thought this book was really good, it reminded me a lot about “Diary Of Wimpy Kid”.This book was about how a student at Gerald Ford Middle School ends up having his name on “The Loser List”. The main Characters in this book are Danny Shine a geek. Asia O'Neill, which happens to be Danny’s crush, Jasper which is Danny's best friend, Axl and his “Skull Gang”, Danny thinks there just bullies, and Chantel, a mean masculine female.The story starts out when Danny Gets in an argument with Chantel when he wouldn't hand over his expensive pen. Then Chantel tells him his name will be put on “The Loser List”,which is a list of all the people that are losers at the school. Danny takes as a joke and Chantal happened to write his name on the Loser List.When Danny gets to lunch he gets in line behind Asia o'Neill he starts to sweat and he gets nervous.When he gets his lunch he sees Axl and his skull gang. Axl tries to squirt ketchup on him but he dodges and throws a sandwich at him. At that moment a food fight happens everyone's throwing their food and its mayem. After its over Axl gets caught and gets detention. Asia o'neill is mad at Danny Because he got her leather jacket dirty. Danny and Jasper find out there names are on the loser list and it's their destiny to get their names off. They get pass the secretary by telling them that there is basketball practice and they have to get their. Danny gets into the bathroom and tries to write his name off but he gets caught, but Jasper is nowhere to be seen. The secretary takes him to the assistant principals office to deal with this. He gives him a week of detention. Danny finds Jasper outside and asks him where he was. After school detention starts and he’s in with the Skull Gang. They start to make fun of him but he tries to make an acquaintance by tattooing fake pen on his arm. axl started to look at him at a different angle. Jasper did not approve, he was upset because he knew he wasn't this type of person. Danny then tells them to go to the comic book shop , but while they were there they stole the #1 issue of RatGirl. Danny was upset, Axl tried to sell it but he took it from him and was going to give it back the next day. It was a convention and it was packed with people that were going to meet the creator of Rat Girl. While he was trying to put it back, he got caught and Axl framed him. He got in trouble and the cops were almost called. Danny Shine is a 7th grade,geeky nobody whose favorite pastime is reading comics, drawing comics, trading comics and buying comics. After a run in with his biggest fear, Chantal Davis, he discovers his name is written on the Loser List in the girls bathroom. Axl Morris, the school bully, agrees to remove Danny's name in exchange for Danny drawing "tattoos". An unlikely friendship develops, but when Axl steals a prize comic book and Danny gets blamed, he discovers being called a thief is even worse than being a loser. This is a great series for 4th graders and up. Danny's drawings are hilarious and the story is a lot of fun. There are some great themes of bullying, friendship, courage, and self-confidence. My 5th grade grandson read this book in one day. The books in the series can be read independently.

Not as good as I hoped more of an unoriginal book oh well.
