Let me start by saying I liked it, hence 3 stars. However what this book needs is a good editor. Firstly to get rid of some of the tedious repetition, and secondly to rectify to appalling misuse of language, in some cases the wrong word, close in spelling and pronunciation but non the less the wrong word. Having said all that it is a good story line with a good ending making subsequent volumes more than a possibility, but please get an editor or at least a proof reader. I'd say this is more of a 3.5 stars than a full 4 largely because the author is not shy about wrapping up story elements quickly which sometimes start to leave you feeling unfulfilled. While this gives you the satisfaction of knowing that all points of the plot are more or less tied off, you at times end up feeling a little dissatisfied that there could have been a bit more narrative to support your feelings for the characters. As a prime example, the villain's character is rather poorly developed through the story.The flip side of this coin is that the author is not long winded, and doesn't go overboard on descriptive narratives. I tend to find overdone narratives more abusive of the reader. I won't name names... We all know who they are. :) It's all about balance, right?With that having been said, I did find this book to be very entertaining and a very easy and pleasant read. I'll likely pick up the next book in the series to see how the story further unfolds. And that is why I gave this the 4 stars rather than 3.
