About book The Lady Most Willing...LP: A Novel In Three Parts (2012)

I don't know why I keep insisting on reading romantic fiction. Most of these books make me roll my eyes so consistently that they roll on their own accord now. I used to love Julia Quinn but I guess I have outgrown such books. A couple issues I had with this book were characters laugh heartily at stuff that isn't really funny, there is always this one shrewish female character that is hated because of how forward she is and the men are obsessed with morals and whatnot. Anyway TL:DR; I don't recommend this book to anyone, not even to the fans. "The Lady Most Willing" by Eloisa James, Julia Quinn, Connie Brockway  This book is the second collaboration by Eloisa James, Julia Quinn and Connie Brockway where they make up a plot that involves three (or more) couples to fall in love at the same time and the situation where this happens.  (Their first collaboration was "The Lady Most Likely".)  There's an introduction to set things up, then each author has a novella-length section for one of the couples, and there's a brief epilogue to wrap things up. It's sort of a cross between a novel and a collection of novellas, because the three sections are not really standalone, the way they would be in a collection of stories, but it's not really a novel either, because the three couples each have their own complete story arc. The setting is more or less Regency England (although Connie Brockway's story has a reference to King George VII, who was born in 2013, is currently formally known as "Prince George of Cambridge" and who has a long time to wait before he might ascend to the throne.) I enjoyed all three stories, but the best one by far is Eloisa James' - there's much more to the two characters in her section and their story than in the other two. The book as a whole is quite funny, with an utterly self-absorbed and obtuse sister and the male instigator of the abduction plot (4 women are abducted from a neighbouring castle to start things off) providing most of the humour.  The setup and the epilogue in this book are much better than in "The Lady Most Likely" - there are no obscure references to Shakespeare's (or someone else's?) plays and things are quite clear even to a reader who is not an expert in classic English comedy or drama ;-)

Do You like book The Lady Most Willing...LP: A Novel In Three Parts (2012)?

I am still very new to historical romance, this being only my second novel in the genre, but I can see where people get hooked. This was such a cute, fun, little story! This is set up to be a "novel in three parts" but they each flow into each other so nicely. And because I am so new this genre, I would not have been able to tell where one author began and one ended if there wasn't a character shift. So basically, there are four single women and four single men trapped in a cold castle in the middle of a huge snowstorm. Hmm... I wonder what could possibly happen next? I know I already said it, but "fun" is the best way to describe what ensues. This story had me smiling the entire time as I was quickly flipping pages.I am very happy with each other couple pairings... which I won't outright state because it was enjoyable for me to find out while reading. Each story was truly equal and I can not say I liked any one more than another. (But maybe the second one just a small, tiny, tad-bit more; but only because the female main character was one of my faves!) I will definitely be looking forward to reading the other collaboration: The Lady Most Likely and other books by all three of these authors. (I have read and loved The Duke and I Julia Quinn; my only other historical romance!)

Me encanto!
