Teenage girl moves into the home of a former teenage girl whose recent death was ruled accidental but is suspicious. Former teenaged girl was the most popular girl in school but a mean girl, driven by all accounts, to have everyone around her worship and idolize her by any means. Now this former mean girl is a ghost and will stop at nothing to have her murderer found, including possessing a sweet, harmless five year old boy. Although not terrifically plotted, the story thrums along quickly. The finale is not so surprising. The characters reactions to the ghost of their dead classmate is surprisingly mild, taken in stride. No one seems at all disbelieving or completely freaked out. Good for fans of ghost stories without too much horror. Am always looking for a good ghost story- and this one, with its romance sub-plots, is perfect for girls in 8th and up. Some tried and true tricks like the spirit possessing the younger brother, the crush being the arsty guy while the popular guy's the jock, the nosy creepy neighbor, but the characters are interesting and the action builds at a good pace. Love the main character's self-awareness and strength as well.
