About book The Inn At Angel Island (2010)

Warm & cozy book surrounded by a beautiful little town and it's generous people with great moral and values, which is very refreshing to see in this fast paced world almost made me want to move to a small town. The book was a bit predictable, however I still really enjoyed it. The writing was nothing special but just right and the reading moves in a nice and simple pace. I loved the message of the book and the recipe at the end of the book was a pleasant little surprise. Finding Kinkade's Cape Light series very enjoyable, I decided to try this, the first in the Angel Island series. His books place me in a quiet, easy going setting which somehow give me hours of peace while reading them, much like the Mitford series by Jan Karon. They are an escape from the busyness of life and settle me into a small town feeling. The Inn at Angel Island is about a young divorcee' and her brother(also divorced), both from the city, who inherit the Inn from an aunt. What they decide to do with it and the people they meet along the way are a snuggly read. I loved it, sorry that Kinkade has passed on and hoping that Katherine Spencer, co-author of some of his books, will continue to carry the torch.
