About book The House On Persimmon Road (2000)

At first I didn't want to read this book because it started with do lunch gloom and doom. I get it, the author was emphasizing the situation. So once I got past that, it turned out to be a pretty good book. The older terminology should have been lightened and used only by older characters. There were typos, including two or three times "Justine" is mistakenly written as "Justin". The characters were well established with individual personalities. The humor was good. I didn't like how Justine was a runner and still a smoker.Lottie should've played more roles during the story considering her bizarre outcome. Over all, it's a pretty good book. I would have rated this lower, but the premise of the book is good. My issue with it is the language...and I don't mean foul...I mean corny, overdone, thesaurus exercising dialogue. I started the book and thought it was going fine, but then when the children in the story started using crazy big words and the main character started saying chifferobe, as though you have ever used that word yourself in modern day America, I called it quits...I'm disappointed.

Do You like book The House On Persimmon Road (2000)?

I may have given this five stars had it not been quite as predictable, still, a good light read.

A good old fashioned love story with a ghost thrown in and a totally wacky family!!

Too much mush for me. A little silly. But you may like it...try it.
